i wanted to draw something motivational but then this happened.
Loki Week: Day Five
It’s unfortunate that the film focused on the weak, seemingly non-existent romance between Thor and Jane, rather than the powerful, believable philia between Thor and Loki. The Thor/Jane thing may have made more sense in the comics, but as it is adapted in the films, it just seems fake, and makes no sense. It just seems like two attractive people who appreciate each other’s attractiveness, and nothing beyond that. So anything beyond a one-night-stand with Thor/Jane just feels weird and forced.
Although a central romance is generally part of the Hollywood heroic film formula, I think the Thor films would greatly benefit from a severe reduction/complete removal of time devoted to it.

You can't kill me.
Okay, I realize this hilariously late for Asexuality Awareness Week (which was last week), but due to unforeseen stressors, it didn’t really get done in time.
Anyway! I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while, and I’m proud of myself of actually getting a six page comic done within a week. (Not that it’s really anything super fancy, but it’s better than nothing lol) I do apologize for the massive ugly text wall that is page four but I had a hard time figuring out how to convey it visually while being kind of pressed for time.
oh and the occasional copy/paste, I’m sorry for that too
Enjoy! Click on the separate pictures if the text is hard to read.
So Rishid tells Pharaoh, If you attack him with your god card, he will die, with the state he’s in. And then Pharaoh sits there thinking about it, not knowing whether or not he wants to save Ryou’s life, if it means losing a card game. If the spirit of the ring had not intervened, I’m pretty sure Pharaoh would have killed Ryou, and that is just absolutely despicable. Just one of the many reasons that I see Pharaoh as the real bad guy of the original Yuugiou series.
the best of peter hale (for my darling dani)
Of all the things to get stuck on this episode, I got stuck on this. STUCK, I TELL YOU. Now, as for the why (I’ll try to be brief ‘cuz I can’t use the [[more]] tag in a photo post).
Back when movie direction was one of my actual curriculars, I attended one wonderful lesson that I always remembered vividly: one about subtle direction choices, and what they mean/convey/tell to the audience’s subconscious.
The main part was about this: when you’re filming about a character being in danger, it doesn’t matter how many other people are present, you must always, ALWAYS show first the reaction of the one that’s most emotionally involved. The reaction of the one character who’s got the deepest connection with/interest for the one in danger. We dissected a movie by Sergio Leone, we analyzed a particular scene, and my professor said something along the lines of: “Yes, sure, showing the sidekick/best friend’s reaction first, you could construct something interesting, even fun, or suspensful. But you always show the girlfriend’s reaction first. Because she LOVES the hero. And that’s what matters the most. The love.”
They showed us Derek’s reaction first here. So.
I GOT TOTALLY STUCK.
finally got out of our fanart rut since s3 started!
